    New improved icons

Firefox is having trouble retaining its users. To remedy that problem Mozilla has cooked up a 12 point plan to increase retention. Step one is snazzier icons that elicit action. See Larry Dignan’s analysis on each part of the plan.

  • Show me that system tray

Mozilla wants to force the issue by putting icons in key areas on the desktop.

  • Default me

Mozilla also wants to make it easier to make Firefox a default browser.

  • Better splash page

Mozilla’s intro page is rather bland compared to this potential version.

  • Support me

Firefox is also beefing up a support page in case newbies get lost.

  • Make the Web more human

This goal of Mozilla’s is a little vague. Here’s an example of how the Web can become more personal.
